  2. My favourite car of all time. Looks like I'll never own one now. :(

I had a 450BHP 2wd Sapphire back in the early 90's. It was tuned by BBR and got under 10MPG :worried: It was a bit nippy.

  8. so did I! Well it was a mini 1000 with a 1275 put in it. Had mag wheels and all the bling trim. Unfortunately the engine blew up during a bit of over enthusiastic mini spinning.. In a fit of rage, I beat it up then swapped it for ... I can't remember what I swapped it for... But I wish I still had it...

  9. I've been looking at buying a mk1 Capri... I had one as a project that I never completed. Had a 351 Windsor that I was going to put in it. I'd still like to do one but I wouldn't be as cool now. .

  10. I was a Capri man when I 1st started driving, I had a few of them. 2.0S, 3.0S a few 2.8 Injections inc Specials and a Tickford. This was all at a time when my mates were in XR2s, XR3is and RS Turbos. I steadfastly refused to go FWD :) I never owned a 280, but still look now and again on eBay. I suppose the Mk1 RS3100 would be my ultimate, but you are talking telephone numbers now. :(

  11. I just like the mk1 body and the idea of a v8 in it. My bud had one with a 302 Windsor that was a proper sleeper. Back in the day when Mazda rotary's where the " fastest" thing out there, kids would laugh at, then be destroyed by the lil ford.

  13. i inherited my maws v.low millage 1974 2ltr ghia in black with black vinyl roof back in the late ninety's that had been garaged for most of its life. cleaned the points, fired in a new battery and drove straight to the mot station. where it past after sitting for twenty odd years. bit too cheesy for me tho.

  14. hmm, maybe its just an age thing loz. spent a small fortune bringing back the bodywork used it for a year then parked it up. other people loved it, got loads of picks of chicks (seventy's speak) draped all over it at the raves i used to attend back in the day.
    Ahh, the good ol daaaays.
i was more of a 260z man back then. i would like one of them.

  15. I like the 240Z better but will happily settle for a 260 : o )

  16. Never mind the cheese

  17. I had a silver XR 4x4; and although it was good, it was never my favourite car - those that stand out for me in my four wheel history of owing cars are a Triumph TR4 (not the 'A IRS' which I also owned); a 970S Mini Cooper; Escort RS 2000 (four headlight job); Nissan 300ZX (that was fun); Mazda 18i GTi hatchback (great car); Nissan 200 SX Turbo; and right at the bottom of my favourites list, and MGC Roadster (a blind pig).

I hate all these modern cars with their electronic gimmickry which seems to play up every so often - always make me think of the cost when the warranties expire. Plus they all look the bloody same (look at British Touring Cars - can't hardly tell the differnce).
