1200 DVT Footpegs Made Out Of Cheese ? ...

  1. Well,

Popped my Strada in for the recall's it needed and brought up a couple of points while I was in there.

Front headlights fogging. Reply "They all do that don't worry - Ducati say it'll burn off with the lights on". Only bike I've ever owned that does this, and I still think its wrong.

Front footrests rubber worn away with less than 6k on the clock "It's a wear and tear item you'll have to pay for new ones". I've a GSXR1000 with 27k on the clock and its rubber is still there.

Gotta wonder where Ducati get their "Premium Brand" ideas when they ignore the little things.

  2. I've got 5 times the mileage and foot pegs are not worn at all, so this is not a ducati issue, it's all on you

  3. So in 25 years of riding I've never, ever worn thro a set of footpeg rubbers on any of my many, many bikes until I got a Ducati ? .... Errr No.

  4. Bit harsh mate, his might have a fault or be factory defects ?? And as for the headlight misting, it is indeed wrong !!

  5. I'm not sure about foot pegs, but my gear lever rubber, as with most folks is actually made of Brie !!!

  6. Nah, that's just the smell from your boots ... :)

  7. Shit, wondered about that.....Will withdraw my enquiry to Ducati then

  8. Probably different rubber batches or even supplier.

  9. Well rather than pay Ducati for it, I'll buy some of those adjustable footrests I think.

  10. Think I must be the same as Wayne, gear lever rubber is made of Brie. My footpeg rubbers however are made of Edam -
    • Edam – A firm, slightly rubbery textured cheese originally from Holland that has a mild, slightly buttery and tangy taste. It’s a reliable cheese to purchase as it lasts for a very long time, and even more so, it’s generally inexpensive. It goes well with crisp lager beers and light red and white Multistrada's.
