  4. Controversial one chisel, it's actual designed for a "three yellow wire" alternator, but know plenty of people who have used without problem on a two wire system. Electrical Boffins on here can explain the differences/risks, I have forgotten and would have to to re-research before answering.

  5. I have the three phase reg/rec on my single phase two yellow wire bike, just connect the two yellow wires to any two of the three on the rec/reg and it works without any problems, mine has been on for about six years now.

  10. so.... getting back to this... I cant find my thread on the subject cos the search function still SUCKS.
although ive had many helpful replies what I really want to know is where I can find a plug and play replacement ..
as in not a triumph one ect with a kit that I can drill out to fit to my ss...
don't mean to sound ungrateful at all but does anyone know if I can get a upgraded mosfet or whatever its called that will plug into and bolt onto my bike?
if so where from? im looking at electric world ones and rang em but the bird I spoke to had no idea. don't want one that I have to fi plugs to and whatnot as although it may be 2nd nature to some its not for me

  11. Do you think that Triumph make their own reg/recs? They are all made in the far east. You may need to fit different connectors or drill a new mounting hole but if that is beyond you then best leave it as is.
I have a 3 phase one on my 1967 Ducati 250 with a 40 watt output alternator, with just two of the terminals connected.

  12. best leaving at it is, is not really an option.. sorry if my mechanical and electrical skills have let you down! thanks for your imput

  14. Electrex MOSFET http://www.electrexworld.co.uk/cgi-...-750-800-900-1000-S2R.html#SID=1024?a1_21RR53

  15. see this is where the confusions kicks in... I rang them to see if this was the correct on and the bird told me she didn't know but she thought I should go with the rr51.. when I asked about the connectors she said its for 7 wires... mine has 6...
I know from you guys it probably don't matter but will it plug in or do I need to change plugs? will it bolt on? you saying this is the right one dude? iffa it aint are you saying you will help me sort it? lol.. this is making me crazy... sorry

  16. You need to check what connector is used for the yellow wires on your bike. It is possible that they used a 3 way connector with 2 wires into it. Would be a simple matter of removing one of the yellow wires from the new R/R connector and insulating the removed wire away safely.

  17. had the fairings off yesterday and without taking too much apart I could see the my reg has 6 wires and from memory the yellow wires went into a 2 way plug...does this make sense? I just want to buy one that plugs in!!!! fucken ducatis... (sorry god)
