Hi All, I am fitting a new, red, pressure plate. Just for the looks. I know nice boy but simple. Not V mechanical so is this an unbolt the old and fit the new or do I have to do more and if I am doing this is there anything else I should do at the same time? Thanks in advance for the help and the sarkey comments Regards Steve
Make sure the dot on the pressure plate lines up with the post with the mark on it and you will have no problems
Apart from swapping spark plugs its probably the easiest job there is on your Ducati.....undo the 6 bolts on the old one, remove them along with the collet and spring, and remove the plate. You MAY find the clutch push rod comes out with it....just give it a tap and it will come out, then replace it into the bearing in the centre of the new plate, then, line up the dot mark on the plate with the slot on the clutch hub, and replace the bolts, springs and collets. Do the bolts up only hand tight then give them a tiny pinch...do NOT torque them up, you are likely to break a post on the hub......
Hi Nog, Thanks for that. Not sure if you got the message I left for you on DOC? The bits i got from you were great and the bike looks good. Hope things good with you. Looking for a new chain, seen a red one looks cool, can you help? How much should I pay? Regards Stephen Albert
Done it today. Real easy. Looks great. Thanks for advice all. The more you do to your bike the more your confidence grows. Is that good or bad? Seem to remember being "told a little knowledge is dangerous". Regards steve
I would go for a good branded chain rather than a pretty red one or you tend to get sh!t like this happen to your bike... These are a good idea tho: eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace (shameless plug)
Yes that is a must have. Thanks for the advice. The red chain is a real Ducati part so I hope good quality. Regards Steve
