Hello, Just wanted to post a wee note about my failed instrument panel. Spoke to an unnamed Ducati Dealer about this issue, who told me that the panel was coded to the ECU and the Keys would need reprogrammed when the faulty unit was replaced. Cost of new unit £700 plus fitting, etc. Being a fairly grippy scotsman I thought bugger that and bought a replacement off eBay for £100. Connected it up and bingo - works a charm! No trip to dealer required! True the milage is wrong, but I have taken photos and kept the old unit as evidence of the change. The original one appears to have failed due to moisture ingress. :-( Hope this helps someone. Cheers, Gordon
I thought I replied to this yesterday but I must have imagined it For the early bikes (2010 - 2012) as long as you replace like with like you should have no problem but if your bike is an S and you fit a non-S dash you will need to get it re-programmed by a dealer to get the S functions for the suspension. From (I think) 2012 on the mileage is stored in the BBS (Black Box System) and the ECU as well as the dash. So if the dash is replaced the mileage can be restored by recovering it from the ECU or BBS but needs a dealer to do this.
My bike is an S and I checked and the suspension settings are there, but I guess I have been a bit luck there as the source bike was not known and I just went off a part code match. Doesn't change the fact that I am going to remain very skeptical about anything a dealer says again.
Hello, i have cracked lcd and i buy used one. I was thinking to somehow cutopen and replace the lcd. But what you did is giveing me hope to tray first connect and tray if everything is working. So i have S model and how can i check if the "new" one is for S or not. Tnx
