we have all been there wether good friends have been there in times of hardship and good times , and now we have moved on. School friends we have spent many great times with throwing conkers and knocking on doors and running away. But modern living and family commitments means we move away from our friends of school days which played a big part of our life's . I am 50 now and do not want to resurrect any friendship with school buddies now but still get loads of crap from face box and so on. Life is so hectic with kids now more than it was when I was a child and being a parent seems to be a 24HR process I wish I was born now with so much technology and awareness regarding work . I feel as a parent that I am so behind the times that I am redundant even though I try. Life was so much easier back in the 80's when credit was not available and people saved for the good things that modern teenagers seem to think it's their right.
just turned 50? i'm 49 again soon i was thinking about school mates the other day. hmm. pretty sure one of them still owes me a fiver. dont want to be born again but i could handle being 21 again, no bother.
My secondary school are having another reunion, I haven't made the others. Not sure I'll make the next, either
I hated school, and couldn't wait to get from there, it was a right miserable time for me . I keep in touch with two friends that I went to school with and that's it. True though, as you get older there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day.
its you thats slowing which makes everything around you look faster. hated school, every minuet of it but still in touch with all my mates, they all still visit regularity to get away from the city they thought i was daft leaving. suckers.
Things would have ET, if your kids hadn't gone and had kids !! We have none of those gran kids malarky, and consequently, wont be stuck in friggin pepper pig world today either
Agree. You meet people at school who will become friends but the friendships are made doing other stuff.
I haven't seen anyone from school since my last day and Im happy to keep it that way. Besides I was expelled from one, so obviously I am not returning to that one and the other would see me lump a few people if I saw them now. Plus theres a few girls I want to avoid.
Went to a class reunion a couple of years back. It was good to meet a couple of guys I was mates with but not much in common now 45yrs on.
Not really Wayne, its just I hate bullies and some tried unsuccessfully to bully me. However, I did see one 3 or 4 yrs after we left school working in Maccie D's, which was nice. I was an awkward customer.
I loathed school and didn't really like anyone at work either............. ..........in fact, I haven't got any friends now and I'm so lonely....................
