V4 V4s Pcp

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Adamwhittuk, Dec 14, 2017.

  1. You shouldn't eat chips while riding a motorcycle, it's very hard to get them under the chin guard. Or if wearing a pisspot/open face the mushy peas get stuck in your beard. Apparently.

  2. Deposit carried forward

  3. Me neither, just illustrating the point that there are often better alternatives to the seemingly attractive carrots they dangle in front of a customer's eyes.

  4. Am I wrong in assuming V4S is covered by warranty for the full length of the PCP contract? if yes, the interest of £3000 is basically £1000 more than a personal loan...but you get an extra 12 months peace of mind. (especially considering it is a first year model)
I assume Ducati offers only 24months warranty if bought for cash.

  5.
  6. AFAIK it is still two years, unless you take out extended warranty from the start

  7. The day the bike in my garage is a monthly bill is the day I don't have a bike.
1199 still blows my socks off and imo looks better than the V4.

  8. They won’t pcp many at those prices

They’ll try their luck realise this and do deals in a year or so

  9. I don't know why you're laughing. #2 son is on to his 3rd PCP financed car in five years. He paid a deposit on the first one he had but has just rolled the payments on for the second and third cars.

Now unless you know something different.........

  10. Those figures are ridiculous in my opinion

I can pcp if I wanted to go that route a s1000rr with all the bells and whistles for 215 a month with no deposit from coopers. They’re having a laugh!

  11. Lucky if trade in value above the cost of balloon payment, unless you start with very large deposit and high monthly

  12. All I know is that he gives it back and gets a new one for another couple of years without handing them a deposit. I think this current car is costing him about £7 more a month than the very first one he got 5 years ago. He's got his head around the fact that he will just rent a car forever.

  13. My son does that , new car every 2 years and he pays £125 month - always under warranty so worry free motoring and free servicing

  14. If you are going to do that you may as well do a HP agreement.

PCP works best when deposit is low and payments are low. Brand new models don't really work on PCP. They have sold every V4 they can make next year. Demand outstripping supply so no good deals.

Give it 18 months and the PCP deals will be better as supply outstrips demand.

  15. They’ve got deposits

They’re not sold according to my dealer - a very different thing

  16. Do the deposit get refunded or bye-bye?

  17. Maybe.but I would be a bit pissed off if a dealer sold a bike to another that I had a deposit in though.

  18. Works better on cars than bikes. Never known anyone (unless 40% deposit) to have a penny towards a new bike on trade in at the end.

Wires is on a 48m BMW/Mini plan, and we'll be looking at that at year 2 to see if its worth chopping in for something else.

  19. Yep, as soon as they need to clear (look at KTM and Aprilia as good examples, and old 959 panigales..) then its either massive off the list or low 0% PCP---or combination of both

  20. I don't think there's such a thing as discount for cash these days. Car, bike, sofa dealers whoever don't want you to walk in with cash and buy it outright, they want to sell you a high interest rate finance scheme because that's where they make the money. In fact some companies make more money from selling the finance than the product. And there's definitely no such thing as 0%, it's just psychological selling, the interest has been worked into the overall price.
