749 Louigimoto/cjs Remap

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by RickyX, Dec 11, 2017.

  1. Chris' dyno does seem to read a tad higher than some others. I remember being at an open day at Motorapido when Steve Hilary was part of it, and a 916 made about 115, 996 about 120, my sps made 128 and a 996R made 127, a T9r made 139

  2. its a well known fact the operators can fluctuate the result. Lets be honest, we all want to be told we have more power than the next guy.
No disrespect to the operators or posters on this thread obviously.

  3. I heard he leans em off at top rpm to get good figures

  4. Compared to the original dyno print I got with my bike, Chris’s readings are less optimistic.
The original run done by a well known Ducati dealer in the cathedral town in the West Midlands read 138rwbhp which was patently very optimistic.
I am happy that the before and after done by Chris shows a small but healthy increase through the range.

  7. My evo was totally different after chris did the custom thing with timing too. 132 to 139. But noticeable that it was overfuelling down low (smell of fuel around town) but lean at the top when you checked the af

  8. I was on the phone to rich the other day and something was getting caned in the dyno room....

  11. Just spent 8 hours round trip going to pick up the bike from gurt Louigi’s.
I’m convinced the seat smells a bit funny... @Cream_Revenge

  13. Interesting seeing the difference the heads, cams and larger diameter exhaust make, particularly how much higher your bike revs. My bike has 50mm full de-cat system plus performance air filter. Dyno chart attached - clearly different dynos, operators, day, etc so absolute value not that relevant for comparison but mine gained similar 7 bhp from start to finish after re-map. Also idles a lot better to as an added bonus. IMG_0196.JPG

  14. That’s very healthy for a standard-ish R.
    Who did the re-map?

  16. Marc Dellapina at Turbopacs in Durham did the remap. He's done a few Ducati's and has his own 853 (I believe).

Mine certainly runs well enough now and the stalling that used to happen once in the first few miles after every start-up (original owner raised it with the supplying dealer Ducati Glasgow but they couldn't fix it) has gone. Idles really well now even in town when hot and the fan on - not the natural place to run a 749R I know but a hazard of getting to / from decent roads!
