1299 Changing F To P On Rear Linkage

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by repsol67, Jan 5, 2018.

  1. Hi, maybe done to death but does anybody have link to a video or instructions or changing my rear linkage from F to P on my 2015 standard 1299? Cheers

  2. Get hold of the workshop manual... if it isn’t too many pages I’ll post the bits you need in here. Pretty straight forward, but you will have to support the rear (I’ve done ratchet straps from seat subframe to roof and a scissor jack on top of the rear wheel).

Out of interest, why do you want to swap? F is better most of the time, and P is really more for if you carry a pillion because it ramps up the force required towards the end of travel to stop it bottoming out (not a problem with just rider).

  3. Here are the pages you need.....

  4. Thanks for the info Jolley, great instructions.
I thought the F selection was for more track use?
I won' be taking a pillion as I've removed the rear hangers/pegs.
Does most road riders just have there bikes in the F position? If so I will just leave mine alone.

  5. Flat, flat, flat!
