What Adhesive ?

  1. The Oxford heated grip on the throttle side of Carole’s Diavel is no longer bonded to the handlebar grip and has started to turn independant of the throttle. I was advised to use a non instant setting super glue but I’m buggered if I can find anything locally that will also withstand the heat. What adhesive is best for this application ? Thanks, Andy

  2. Contact adhesive. Evostick or similar. Gives a dwell time (not long though) to get it positioned and helps slide the drip on a little.

  3. You can also use hairspray, it acts as a lubricant for fitting and then as an adhesive once the solvent evaporates.

  9. I usually wrap a layer of sticky reflective aluminium tape round before fitting the heated grips, 2-3 layers on clutch side and one on the throttle. Seems to bulk it out a bit so the grips are a tad harder to get on, but stay on. Always just used grip glue from wherevers cheapest meself, never had a problem :upyeah:

  11. I've used hairspray, seems to work fine, even on shiny/polished bars plus I don't need to buy it as I just 'borrow' it from the Mrs.

I certainly don't need any hairspray myself... :(
