  2. I totally agree, I managed to find a pair of silver period brembo levers but only to be told by Italy that due to manufacturing problems in 94 that anything to hand was fitted just to get bikes out. So if I ever decide to sell my Strada it will go with quite a large box of options parts and the new owner can select his preferred "standard" setup.
Maybe you could help with this also... my frame No is just over 1600 and according to Italy the bike was made in June 94 which all fits with date codes all over the bike, but why would the frame No be so high?

  3. I never saw those non adjustable levers.
Heard it also that the strada had these.
I have a ‘94 strada as well and they are also adjustable.
Maybe it where the display bikes or so who where like that?

    Henk!!!

  4. '94 bikes up to VIN 006913 had fixed levers, they then went to adjustable

  5. Interesting - mine is also a June 1994 916 and the frame number ends 0010** and the fairings are stamped 04 - 94.

After speaking with Ducati they informed me they made 1451 Strada’s, they also informed me there is no such thing as a 916 Strada, they were called 916 Monoposto. Strada was from the 851/888 range. Weird when all reference books refer to the 1994 916 as STRADA.

I’ve listed in previous posts some of the original parts included on the early 916’s all taken from pictures and references in the Ian Falloon books.

  6. My frame number is somewhere in 0014## so should be non adjustable then.
Good luck finding a pair of those.

    Henk!!!

  7. The non adjustables are still listed under the original part number, although I'd guess they are now bright finish and not the dark, greenish colour.

  8. Hi Guys,

I bought my 916 Strada new in 1994 (after a six month wait) so I know exactly what's original and what's not on the bike.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

    Cheers,

    Gareth

  9. hi there, have you still got it???

  10. Hello yes still got the bike

  11. I certainly have!

Just to answer one of the points raised I can confirm that the levers are silver, non-adjustable and brembo embossed.

  12. congratulations,, that a long time for one bike!

  13. Indeed. But I've got others...

I hear and read so many people say they'll never sell their bike blah blah, but I'm going until I can't ride sports bikes. I've had it nearly half my life - couldn't keep my wife that long!

  17. Ah yes, November '93 at the NEC..... That's when I first laid eyes on a 916. I'd no idea it existed but when I saw it I had a Wayne's World moment, "Oh yes, it will be mine...."

I'll try and get a photo uploaded for you although garage is a bit full of bikes at the moment so won't be able to let you have a full set of 360 degree views.

  18. As long as there’s a wheelie bin in the background then this lot will be happy.

    Ha-ha-ha!

Think I can do better than a wheelie bin! Just found a couple of photos on my PC so thought I'd share it. Garage a bit fuller these days.....
