916 916 What Have I Got

  1. I don't understand why but my mates say I've got an addiction to Italian sportsbikes.......

The standard Benelli has now gone but I'm holding on to the Limited Edition model (what a stunning looking bike even today). Only 150 ever made.

I've since added a 1986 Flip-up headlight Suzuki Katana GSX750 (never an officially designated model for the UK and only 80ish ever officially imported by Heron Suzuki) and most recently a 2013 1200S Multistrada. The ZZR1400
and the BMW K1100RS will be moved on in the Spring as things are getting ridiculous!!

  2. G,,Thanks for loading the pictures V,,,NICE,, and we just Love RiDiCULOUS,,or wants the point of life otherwise?

  3. No worries fella!

I too love the ridiculous but I can't twirl my spanners in the garage anymore as its become a storage area which is no good.

I found this pic on my phone which is how it looked prior to the Multistrada arriving (AKA the straw that broke the camel's back). I think you'll get where I'm coming from.....

  8. No such thing as a silly question and I've been waiting for someone to ask. It's around 10,300 off the top of my head.

  9. Wow,,thats 447mls per year on average!

  10. That’s true!

There’s a very long story behind that involving things like redundancy, divorce, house sale yadda-yadda but the bike hasn’t been on the road since 2005 after I was made redundant after 16 years of service.

In the 90’s it got a lot of use. After I finally took delivery in August ’94, I quickly ran it in, got it serviced and in September headed to the Bol D’Or 24 hour race at the Paul Ricard circuit. Needless to say I got mobbed everywhere I stopped. I’ve also taken it as far North as Oban in Scotland and all points in between.

Having finally got back on the property ladder in November 2016 I could move it from the nice warm integral garage at my mother’s to my own place. Now I’ve got a garage that I can work in again (well, when I’ve sold a couple of bikes) I’ll get around to sorting it.

Please don’t hate me but there’s a lot of time and money that needs to be spent to get her back on the road. As you can imagine, it’s not just a case of oil, filter, new belts and a battery. Brake seals, fuel and brake lines, all fluids etc etc will need to be addressed and what with all my other choices to ride I’ve just not got around to it yet….
