I've recently removed one.
Fairly straight forward to do yourself.
Just take your time and trace the wires , and remove from your loom, and re-solder your loom back together.
It will probably be split into your loom via starter solenoid and fuel pump relay areas.

 

as above, don't be put off - armed with a good wiring diagram you can work out which wires have been intersected and then match each loose end back together by studying the wire colour codes. Alarm wires are often black and a thinner gauge and the joins/insulation nearly always stand out like a sore thumb.

 

If it’s of any help, these are the sort of wires you need to follow into the loom. Last photo of my S3 before it was smashed with a hammer and burnt.....

 

I dropped the last 3 I removed into a bucket of water and found it very satisfying. The alarm keeps going (now quieter) for quite a while sometimes.
