One of the things that bugs me on my bikes is rusty fasteners, of course it’s easy to swap out any normal fasteners with Stainless equivalents, but the more specific Ducati, or more special ones, can be more difficult. Over the last couple of years I’ve done a bit of work sourcing or making fasteners and can offer the following. Early Monster Instrument cluster special bolts. I machine these myself from a longer bolt, and a few people from the Monster Forum have had them from me and been very happy. These are £12 a pair including postage, but I only get time to machine them at the weekend, so can’t send any out until the following Monday. Master Cylinder Lever pivot sheet metal nuts. The original mild steel version of these go rusty very quickly, so I’ve sourced these in A2 Stainless steel. They are a direct replacement. I am looking at machining a batch of the pivot pins themselves from stainless, but am not there yet. £6 a pair including postage. Lock stops Again these go rusty very quickly, and Ducati appear to use 2 versions on everything from the 90s to almost the present day. There is a 25mm version and a 30mm version, but the 30mm version s fits the earlier bikes as shown with my M900 below. Again these are A2 Stainless steel and are a direct replacement. Old scabby Steel To be replaced with these Like so These are £6 a pair posted. Nasher.
Lockstops and clock mounts if still available? Also do you make stainless pins for 40mm spaced Brembo calipers? Specifically the type where one is fitted centrally to each caliper and is retained by a small oval shaped free floating spring in the rear of the caliper? Cant get any in SS anywhere Like these car ones but with a head on the 'thin' end; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Front-Br...tsubishi-Evolution-7-8-9-H2092X-/271784852198 Cheers - Ben
Those Brembo pins can be an F’ing nightmare. Usually resort to calling it a dickhead and walking away for a brew. I’d be up for stainless
If Nasser doesn't do the stainless pad pins they are available from here, http://www.shawstainless.co.uk/index.php/2/ the small feral has to be carefully removed from the original pins and re fitted to the stainless. I've fitted them to my bike. Steve
Sorry guys, the Brembo pins are not something I've looked at, yet, I'll investigate. PMs on the way to Nottsbiker and sharksqb16. Nasher.
Update: Desmoquattro, Nottsbiker, your fasteners were posted first class post yesterday. Sharksqb16, Oldrider, yours were at the post office this morning. Enjoy Nasher.
