I have a forgetful bike, back end of last year when turning the bike on (before turning it over) I would intermittently get "please insert date" and the time, date personal settings had all been cleared. Not long after the battery started to play up and assumed that low battery was causing the issue. I've replaced the battery and I'm still getting the issue. is there a battery in the clocks themselves that could be iffy? anyone seen the symptoms before?
Not seen that at all mate, and don't think there is a battery in the dash ? I don't wish to state the obvious but some folk have not set correctly once they have inserted their own settings, but if you've done that the right way, then sadly, it could be a visit to the dealers unless someone else has experienced this ??
The only way to loose the settings of date and time is a low voltage from the battery. So irrespective of changing the battery or not you may have a drain ie an alarm or if you are not riding often and bike is not on tender. Lastly the new battery may be not that new.
? I'm not sure that makes sense. The bike has no alarm and is on a battery tender, also good friend works for a recovery company and he came and tested the battery which passed. I would have thought that if there's enough juice in the battery to turn over the engine then there's enough juice in the battery to feed the memory function. If there is no internal battery to the clocks then maybe a bad earth?
Has this a while ago, When asked dealer about it was told it was something to do with my battery charger. If it was plugged in for a while would loose time and date. now plug it in every now and again for couple of days and not had any trouble. Steve
There was an issue with early bikes which was rectified with a software update... https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/1200-dvt-bug-with-trip-meters.33614/#post-693823 Maybe it’s related.
