Hi guys has any one used motoliners in Kent for checking frame geometry?? I want to get my track bike checked and get the frame strengthend if it's ok, or anyone know of someone closer to Cheltenham who does the same thing?? Cheers.
Used them for wheel straightening twice. Superb service, proper old school with brown lab coats and an old geezer who really knows his stuff. I feel sure they will be able to do what you want but it is a fair trek from Cheltenham.
I'm in Bristol and east London tomorrow in my van, always worth checking with me as to availability, I will be going to Bristol at least twice in next couple of weeks...my van below, middle bike is a multi, left side is an sp1, right a blade...I'm fully insured for bikes...price max £90 without even checking location that includes popping up from Bristol to Cheltenham...mates rates I hope? Would have to be on the day I go Bristol, hope this helps.
@I'm closing in mate that's great, won't be till next month though as I've got a couple of track days to do first before the strip down, il ring motoliners see when they can get me in if your free when they are ,be great to use your service.
I used them back in around 2005 when I got knocked off my gaze 600 when racing at Pembrey. Bike continued upright into tyre wall and the front tank fixing holes in the headstock were 20mm forward of the holes in the tank. They said it was borderline but bring it down and we’ll take a look. They straightened the frame and the bike shook its head coming onto Donington start finish straight exactly as it did before. Brilliant job and would thoroughly recommend them.
I've not used Motoliners, but had my bike frame checked out by Fourth Dimension in Egham a couple of weeks ago, after a numpty pulled out of a side road without looking and went into me. The numpty admitted fault at the scene and was very apologetic. Rather than let my bike disappear into the great claims sausage machine for weeks/months, I got the numpty's insurers to agree to pay Snells for any repairs needed, and to reimburse me for getting Fourth Dimension to check that the frame was straight. Fourth Dimension charged £140+ VAT so £168. I was extraordinarily lucky in the circumstances - I kept it shiny side up, the only obvious damage to the bike was a broken footpeg, broken rear indicator and a few scratches on the bottom of the engine (plus a gouge in the leather and paint flakes from numpty's bumper on the top of my left boot). There was more damage to the car that hit me - we picked bits of his indicator plastic out of my frame. Apart from a bruised left foot (my left little toe is still very swollen) I was fine. Daytona boots definitely get my seal of approval after such a test.
I'm off slovenia around 15th April, after tomorrow 2 maybe 3 trips to Bristol I can find out next week, I tend to go Friday to Bristol although was there yesterday...hopefully I can help you, and yes I would only have your bike in, I'd look to take something north from the London area though.
well ive phoned um up there very help full ive got to strip the bike to a rolling chassis then phone um up and get it to them.
I had motorliner straighten my Kawasaki years ago after hitting a car head on. Good guys and yes very old school.
