  3. I've just been pointed in the direction of this and was unaware of it. I'm truly sad that @noobie is gone, he was one of the people I enjoyed reading and respected the most.

I know exactly where he's coming from with the moderation. I feel it's at the correct level most of the time, but lately I've had posts altered or deleted for no good reason, and with no notification. It's just something I've noticed when going back to a thread and can no longer see my input on the subject. I've just left it and said nothing. A moderator also has very thin skin and certainly doesn't practice what is preached. Being occasionally chastised like a 9 year old does nothing for me, I'm afraid.

  4. Rob,

You've left this up for a few weeks.
Any ideas on moving forward; Status Quo or some changes?

    Cheers

Love the forum and the people in it, on it and around it.

  8. Are we all said and done now, boy that was hard reading with some good points but lots of criticism which is understandable given we are all individuals with our opinions.
It is a great site, one of the best I ever joined and we do need some members who scoot on the fine line of being a pain in the arse, that’s what makes it work otherwise it becomes sterile and dies.
Keep up the good work Rob and Terry:upyeah:

  9. Based on the massive cyber attack on the forum today I assume that there is no or limited vetting of new accounts on the forum?
Historically these appear to be occurring during the normal uk sleeping hours. Is there perhaps the need for more than one moderator to allow a more rigorous application process?
Perhaps even banning those that wish to hide their identity from the rest of the forum?

  10. There is a check field to get through. They’ve managed to side step it. It’s being sorted.

  14. I missed all the excitement, slept in today with a touch of man bug..... Must be the beast from the East Tel :D

  15. The Site went all Chinese, 5 pages of new posts, all in feckin' Chinese, Tel fixed in pretty good time, was a nightmare trying to sort out which posts to read or ignore, almost gave up and did some real work.
