  2. After removing 44 oak floor joists that were rotten on the ends and very bent, I am now awaiting some replacements before I can try and straighten the floor up, the existing supporting beam runs 6ins out of level and that is staying as it is, I,m beginning to take a dislike to listed buildings.

  9. This insurance game is most definitely unfathomable and does my head in. Got my car renewal notice so rang them up and spoke to a very nice young woman. Politely asked why, after another claim free year of driving and a lower vehicle value, the cost of my policy had gone up £40 ? She had a very direct and plausible answer that I was happy to accept but after a bit of jiggery pokery she managed to get the renewal cost £30 cheaper than I paid last year. Hey ho. We’er off to Wales on Friday so spent an hour checking both bikes over, tyre condition and pressures, chain tension and lube and top up on go juice as we’ll be setting off at the crack of sparrow fart. Having a good week so far, Catalunya GP tickets, a free upgrade to a junior suite in one of our favourite hotels in Barcelona for 5 nights and return sleazy jet tickets all booked and paid for. 11. Sadly the upgrade was to the smaller of the 3 suites the hotel offers. I’m still chuffed that they remembered me and offered the upgrade from a twin without me asking. Andy

  12. ET when I was caring for my nan she had a fall at home but didn’t press her panic alarm
The carer found her lay on the floor blood from head would called 999 while they were assessing her she passed out unresponsive I had the call that I needed to go to her as things weren’t looking good
She was under warming blanket and when arrived she seemed to have a second wind and made a good recovery
Hope your mum perks up when she sees you

  13. I’ve spoken with both my brothers (as I couldn’t go till after a doctors appointment I had at 5pm and I wouldn’t get there till 7.30/8pm) and the doctor that visited her this afternoon have diagnosed sepsis and said it’s a waiting game, and they won’t intervene unless she’s in pain.

I’ll be going first thing in the morning.

  14. Oh bloody Nora she is in my thoughts T

  16. My wife told me I don't satisfy her anymore.

    I reckon it's probably, it's because I'm a Man, not a fucking cake shop.
