It seems the tables have been turned while I've distracted myself in the local watering hole. Said Merc does not have ratchet type switch. Switch has now expired after 190,000 miles.... invested in a new one. No expense spared on this automotive marvel. An anonymous friend is trying to get a horn operational on a "bitsa" Ducati special. Despite copious amounts of detailed help from several people in the know he's struggling..... hence my op.
Clearly not...... wooden motorcycle museum destroyed in mysterious fire will be on the beeb when the next atempt arrives.
Said Ducati is having it's race mode switch rewired by the manufacturer to re establish the horn connection and is having a very nice CNC 'pit in' button to disguise it thanks to some very detailed help from the Lozeraptor I concluded this was the best for this epic National Championship winning bike and have shelved your 'Southern' tape and tie wrap method but thanks for your efforts and Mr 2moto has had a coffee in my kitchen a few weeks ago and is a very nice fella
