Hmm, I just sold my CB1100 and brought my Multistrada to home, small 4km ride. So the Multi is my only bike from now on And guess what, yeah, the yellow engine light flashed on me after about a month just sitting there. Parked the bike, engine off engine on, still flashing. Different modes, still flashing. Let it rest in the garage. Took it for a longer spin and stopped flashing, but went solid yellow when the bike got up to temperature. Exhaust valve is working fine btw, I checked that Not that I expect some easy to fix solutions here by asking this but; What are the experiences fo this 'issue' I wonder? Hopefully just some sensor thing, or only a glitch that can be removed when on diagnostics? Bike rides fine btw and I have already mailed the closest dealer... Not a cool start of a new chapter this is. To be updated...
Meanwhile I disconnected the battery, I'll let it rest a day and see if that will have "fixed" the issue
Hmmm Doubting the battery.... I Disconnected the battery last evening and after a night I reconnected it. I will not start the bike since i dont wanna wake anyone up here But if i read my multimeter correctly it shows 0.19 volts Also I see the service date indicators appear, but i suppose this is because i dettached the battery? Will start and ride the bike when i get back home from work.
at my work right now, I'm off at afternoon, made an appointment with the dealer asap to hook it on their computer edit: it wasnt the battery, voltage is normal going to the dealers now will update here asap
disconnecting battery and reconnecting it later eliminated the error !! but because of that the dealer got to see a whole series of errors on the screen So, twas the solution, but at the same time it caused errors. Errors were eliminated and now everything is flawless again. But what did the light in the first place light up? Who knows.....blame it on the funcky Italian electronics?
nopes, volt levels were like new! So, no idea what caused the light. Hopefully it wont come back again for no reason. The plan is to: ride and enjoy
Bloody stupid light. Having to visit a dealer to get fault codes read and reset the light is a massive con. They need to make it mandatory for bike manufacturers to do what car manufacturers have to i.e. provide an Open Diagnostic Port that anyone can plug a reader into.
