Fitted one I bought off here, and have to say, WTF are people on when they say its better for wind protection, noise and head buffeting than the standard touring screen?! Its terrible!! Looks good though
Sometimes, people deserve a nuke As an aside, I may have a DP confirm seat for sale, like new, as it is a bit tall for me. Shame, its mega comfy
100% agree. I had one fitted to my Enduro at delivery, hoping it would improve the problems I have hearing my Comms, over the usual wind noise. Doesn't work at all, had to refit the original screen, which is also crapola. Without some form of a see through yacht sail on the bike (like a GSA), I can't see a solution to it? Shame, as I do like the look and it hides that ugly satnav mount/screen adjuster.
There are companies who will fit extended hight soles to your riding boots? So you could keep the comfy seat? Sorry cheap shot
Funny enough, I am going to take my goretex touring boot (it’s a one piece sole) into a cobblers and ask exactly that. I reckon I could have 1/2 to an inch added and it would still clear the pegs. Only issue would be feel from what would be like a Gary-glitter boot
Bradders have a look at Daytona M Stars, 20mm lift, I would have had a pair but they only make them to a size 43 if I remember correctly, but they will make them bespoke if you want.
This Puig screen is similar to the PP but a lot cheaper. Several friends have these fitted. They range in height from 5'6 to 6'2 and feel major aero improvements. http://www.onlineracingspares.com.au/p/double-bubble-screen-puig-ducati-multistrada-1200/7622F Puig make several screens for Multis. There are also taller touring screens in various tints that are taller and quieter than the OEM offerings, though dark tint not recommended for these. http://www.onlineracingspares.com.au/?rf=kw&kw=2015+ducati+multistrada+puig
See if they'll do it in hollow clear acrylic, then you can have a goldfish in the heals. Would look awesome.
I replaced my original screen with a PP one, expecting it to look cool but be nowhere near as good as the original. I was wrong. I definitely get a bit more wind-blast but it's cleaner, less turbulent air. FWIW I'm 5'10", short legs but taller upper body - a nightmare for finding decent fitting jeans as even the shortest of legs measurements are always too long.
I know of a few lads with the top aero wing fitted & they say they are good. None on a multi though. Gs1200 & Triumph.
I keep banging on about this product, it's not that attractive but for long trips, especially motorway work it's a huge improvement, good quality and very adjustable... https://www.wunderlich.de/shop/en/wunderlich-screen-deflector-vario-ergo-20280-002-1.html
Now that's an understatement. In much the same way as saying "I'm just popping to the moon" is also an understatement. Seriously though, I've seen a few of those single-point-fastening visors and I'm assuming that because they clamp on in a very small area that it must clamp on pretty hard to remain in place, possibly marking the original screen - assuming the original screen doesn't need drilling and the thing is screwed in place. I don't mind making a permanent mod and drilling holes if it enhances the look of the bike, but to do it whilst needing to carry a throw-up bucket with you just ain't for me. I'd also say that it's got to be a total non-starter on a thinly constructed carbon fiber screen which is extremely brittle. I mean, practicality aside, putting something grotesque on a lovely carbon screen would be completely criminal.
The PP is way cool and fine for a tank full of fuel. If going on a longer tour simply swap it out for a touring screen. You could get 2 screens for the price of an OEM one!
Paul, have a look at the Vario one, I used it and it was fine, if you get the angle on the top blade right, it pushes the wind over your head.
