1200 DVT 43 Rear Sprocket ?

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Steve71, Apr 19, 2018.

  1. Has anybody put a 43 tooth rear sprocket on a 1200 dvt ? Usual is 42 but what about a 43!

  2. If I remember correctly you should stay with an odd number toothed sprocket so look at 45, chexk out website gearing commander.

  3. Fit what you like. Will make town work easier but also mean you will probably be using gears more unless you ride using the while rev range all the time

  4. I wouldn't change it at all. If you've not been into a dealer for a while then make sure you've got a recent ECU flash as you might think differently once it's done. I was considering it myself but once I'd had a recent ECU update any thoughts I had on changing the final drive gearing completely disappeared.

  5. Agree with above. I have the upmap that came with the termi system & the bike is perfect. Just let the clutch out at tickover & the bike just pulls away with no crappy jerks etc. Top gear at anything around 55mph . Why change the sprocket. Like said above check with dealer for latest map. &&&& of course trash that stupid exhaust valve that was only put there to meet euro standards for noise at specific revs.

  6. Mine is a 43 from new, but its done at 15,000 miles, anybody recommend a source for a steel replacement? Ducati want £100+ just for the rear sprocket.

  7. Maybe get an alli talon one, normally about £30.

  8. Is 43 not an odd number then?
