  1. Hi guys!

I have noticed on my 2002 996 before i put her away for the winter that i can hardly put her in neutral bettwen first and second! It's not a big problem but its annoying!Do you guys know what can be done to it?

    Thanks

    Peter

  2. It's usually clutch drag causing it. Either there's air in the clutch system or the slave is leaking. Bleed the system and /or check for fluid loss around the slave in the front sprocket area.
Could be clutch wear, but it's usually accompanied with slip by the time it gets that worn

  3. are you getting a loud 'clonk' as you select first accompanied by a momentary lurch forward at the same time? this will also confirm some form of clutch dragging ^.

  4. Thanks guys. Can't remember any "clonk" noise. When i'm rolling with her i can put her in neutral but when i stop i have difficulty to do it!

  5. As said above check for leaks, then bleed the system. If thats no good measure the stack height.

  6. just a long shot - have you still got the standard steel clutch cover and if so is the thick rubber 'gasket' still fitted?

  7. Good way to check for drag as well as the clonk test is to put her on a paddock stand, fire her up then put in gear.
    Watch the rear wheel...:upyeah:

  8. thanks guys,

Don't have a padock stand yet and i think i'm gonna take her to the shop for a check up!
