Hi all. do any of you guys have one of these ? If so, can anyone tell me how to use the sodding thing I've had this one for some time but not had reason to use it until now. I simply want to reset the service light at this point, and maybe after I've got it to work I will have a sniff about of other stuff. Cheers, John.
http://technoresearch.com/Manuals/CenturionUserManual.pdf This might help if I’ve picked the right one. Andy
Thanks Andy. That manual is very helpful, but it is very much harley based and I can't find anything specific to the ducati. I was hoping some of the people on the group buy a few years back might have used theirs. Pete, it's an OBD tool that can supposedly read and reset fault codes, reset the service indicator, and a whole host of other things. It should be intuitive, and I'm a techy, but buggered if can figure out how you reset the service Indicator Since I can't understand maybe I need training
Thats true, but they made a tool specifically for the multi. There was a group buy on here 3 or 4 years back. https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/ducati-diagnostics-service-tool.1247/page-3#post-249303
I bought one a few years ago from usa. Not very tech savvy myself, but managed to set TPS and check for fault codes. I thought it gave option to read codes and then erase stored codes?
I have one for the MTS and it is fecking useless. Initially it could read and clear error codes and test the fans, fuel pump and speedo but not reset the service light but did after a software update. It has a feature where you can check and install software updates which I did now and again. Then one day when I did a software update it completely changed the software so that it required a licence code to get access and seemed to be completely Harley based. I emailed Technoresearch support but wasn't even graced with a reply. I reverted back to the original supplied software but it isn't up to much and I subsequently used MultiTool Lite for service light resets. It seems they simply discontinued the Mitsubishi version and tough shit for anyone who had purchased it. It is some time since I last used it but as I remember; Plug the supplied connector cable into your laptop and use Device Manager to check what COM port is being used. Open Centurion and set the COM port to the same number then try clicking on the icon to connect to the bike. If successful "MELCO" should show in the info bar at the bottom as the ECU type.
Another option to look at is JPDiag/MelcoDiag which can be found at http://jpdiag.akress.com/ - it is free to license for personal use up to 5 bikes - can read error msgs and should be able to reset service/oil lights among other things. I have only used it to see error msgs sofar. you can find a decent description of how to get it setup here: http://ducatiforum.com/ducati-1199/30470-melcodiag-diagnostic-software-1199-a.html
Thanks Mordor, I will give that a try once I figure out what lead it needs, or whether I can reuse the ons I already have. Technoresearch are trying to help, but given I've had it for a while they are struggling.

the neccessary cables for Melco are also discussed in this thread: http://ducatiforum.com/mechanical-technical/27198-diagnostic-software.html To take out the important information from the thread, the 2 things you need that I ordered from the thread, and they work are: https://www.ebay.com/itm/232058940291?hash=item3607ca6b83 https://www.ebay.com/itm/192255182543?hash=item2cc34d46cf
