Well rather then a quick "Hello" I thought I'd give you a little more to waste your Friday reading...lol A little about me; I have owned several other bikes, Kawasaki's (a few Ninjas, ZRX1100 and zx models) a couple Suzuki's (bandit and katanas) Harleys, bobbers, and a few projects. And finally emptied my stable down to just my BMW sport touring this past season. About 2 months into riding it I realized as much as I enjoy the smooth riding suspension, the confrontable seating, back rest, and well those heated grips... I had lost something.... I barely felt like I was riding anymore, I might as well take the car out for the trip and skip the hassle of maintain a bike. That's when I decided it was time to get back to what got me interested in bikes growing up and the first bike that really did that for me was the first time I saw the 916 here in the states. I always dreamed of having one but for some reason never got around to buying one. Well 2 weeks ago I got a hit on a local rider who had one for sale, I sold the BMW and this past Saturday I met up with this rider and picked my dream bike from his stable. =) This by no means is a collector bike, its seen quite a few track days with its previous owner, and being that is something I have never had the chance to do, I decided its what I want to start doing moving forward. So, after a long wait (and quite a few prior motorcycles) I was finally able to pick up my first love...lol I picked up a 95 916 and am so happy I was finally able to get one. Previous owner is a very avid rider and hooked me up with quite a bit of spare parts, track plastics and a bunch of maintenance parts. Got it tagged and titled but stuck in the middle of 7 days of straight rain...so can only look at this bird and hope for a sunny day. I am on a ducati forum state side, but since I have already ordered a couple parts for this bike and realized they are all shipping from Europe, I might as well join here to in case I need any advice or parts down the road. Look forward to talking and learning with you guys!
Thanks Everyone For the Warm welcome, now just hoping this rain ends so I can actually take her out for a ride... it may be a while though...
