  1. About time really. Similar applies to the lack of firearms officers, damned if you do, damned if you don't.
There was however, a high ranking Kent Officer on the radio this morning stating front line Police officers probably would not change their mindset on this anyway. This I believe as the calibre of officers recruited has totally changed since the mid nineties. Recruitment prior to this was to join a Police Force, after it was to join a Police Service. Pre mid nineties there was a good chance of getting a beating in the back of the Police van for those who deserved such.
The only way to begin cutting crime and taking the streets back is to employ more patrol officers and lock criminals away. If this means an increase in taxing then lets discuss.
As I type this, a drug deal is taking place outside my office on the street below. Its similar to an ice cream van coming but he sits there longer, usually half an hour. I gave up dialling 101 with the vehicle details and descriptions as nobody picks up, it rang for 20 minutes once before I got bored and put the receiver down. One way to try to reduce GMP's 35% increase in recorded crime I suppose.......

  6. Quote "The rules would also make clear that a moped or motorcycle rider who does not wear a helmet is responsible for their own decision to drive dangerously."

Well that is some sort of good news, if a moped c*nt decides to do criminal things. We or the police & society shouldn't FOOT THE BILL. Or allow solicitors to rack up huge bills the government & in doing so us the tax payers cover.
