Hello everyone, I've had my first “bike drop” and it was painful. The bike fell on its left side and the gear pedal got bent, as well as the bolt used to attach it to the LH rearset. On top of that, the LH handguard shattered, LH mirror snapped and there's some scratches on the LH fairing and beak. Yesterday I was checking the threaded hole into which the gear pedal bolt engages and it looks as if part of the thread has been damaged. The initial part of the thread seems to be "flattened", maybe due to the impact? Which would explain why the bolt was bent too. Not sure if the thread is meant to be like that or if it's been damaged and I'd need to re-tap it. The bolt engages OK, although I must say there’s excessive “free-play” on it until it gets fully tightened. I’ve attached a couple of photos hoping someone could help me on this (ideally by taking some pictures of the thread on their bike for comparison). It’s a Ducati Hypermotard 821 - 2013. I can upload more photos if needed. Thanks in advance. Best regards, Javier
Thread looks fucked.... Helicoil will fix. You'll need to know bolt thread size and pitch, then get helicoil kit
