Old Helmets!

Discussion in 'Wanted' started by Sambighair, Mar 19, 2018.

  1. I want them! To help with the trauma training of our emergency services , I am collecting old/disused lids. So far I have 3 drop off points in and around Manchester.

    Ducati Manchester
    Dalton house
    Washway road
    Sale.

    J&S Accesories
    Tower Mill
    Ashton old road
    Openshaw.

Raymond Massey & Son funeral directors
    14 king st
    Dukinfield.

Please feel free to drop any unwanted helmets at any of these places, or post them if you don' mind paying the postage.
All types, styles, age and condition are accepted and will be passed on and put to good use.
I hope to get a few more drop off points in the future So if you can help with that please get in touch.

    Cheers Sam

  7. Not the first guy to go touting for helmet online, but the first I’ve seen doing it for a good cause. Well done that man :upyeah:

Must be difficult as so many (myself included) display their old lids

  8. St John ambulance also welcome donations of helmets.

  9. Thank you!

  10. Maybe we could get a list of police/ambulance/fire stations throughout the country where they can be dropped off..
Bet there would be enough to meet demands dropped off if it was as easy as a local drop, I would imagine that any surpluses dropped off in Manchester would only have to then be sent around the country anyway?

    And well done bud:upyeah:

  11. Good plan.

  12. Any surplus will be given to surrounding areas and other services such as the previously mentioned St John's.

  13. I have 1 or 2 you can have. I'll drop off at Sale when next passing by.

  16. Well...a few have been donated and I'm still on the charge in respects of getting the word out.
I have been asked to do a photo for distribution, possibly in some motorcycle media.....

Things seem to be picking up a bit of momentum.
I'll be at Ducati Manchester tomorrow around lunch time so if anyone wants to drop any lids off I can grab them then.
    Cheers guys n gals!

  18. This little idea seems to be taking off somewhat, it's due to be featured in our local papers and I've been told Matt from MCN may well be calling to help raise awareness and maybe even run an article too!

Last week two representatives from the fire service came to collect a batch of 20 or so helmets and are over the moon with the idea!

As always any old , knackered, unwanted lids will be greatly appreciated!

    Cheers
    Sam
