  1. Hi all,
Just picked up my ST2, Bad news is the neutral light doesn't always go off, and the fuel guage permanently reads full.
    All suggestions greatfully received.

  2. Two suggestions:
The nil cost option is to learn to live with it. The bike will run just fine.
The other option is to replace the two faulty sensors so the instruments all work correctly.

  3. I would suggest checking that the wiring for the neutral light isn't shorted to earth (trapped or via removed wire insulation). Maybe the plunger in the neutral light sensor is stuck pressed in. (Just in case anyone isn't familiar, the sensor is in the back of the crankcase near the swingarm).
The bike will run OK, but you'll have to be careful as it will start in gear if the light is constantly on.
Same for the fuel gauge - a wire shorted to earth might give a constant reading.

  4. You may find that the neutral sensor/switch plunger frees itself and the light works as it should with a little use. Alternatively, remove it, free the plunger and lube it - this is what it looks like - https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=ducati+neutral&_sacat=0

As for the fuel light, the sender is a little more difficult to get at, necessitating the removal of the cap and collar in order to get your hand inside the tank to move the float up and down so as to ascertain whether the float or the sender is at fault - before you start on that adventure - it may be worth checking whether the parts are available

    Good luck
