  1. Hi Guys,

So the "Ducati Seat Pad" on the seat cowl of my 1299 came off while I was cleaning it. It seems like the original adhesive hadn't made full contact to the seat cowl and it's worked its way loose over time.

Was going to let the dealer sort it as it's still under warranty but as it's minor I'll do it myself. Just need to know which adhesive to use?

Is there anything specific for this, or will any hard as nails / bath silicone sealant etc type product do the job?

...or....might sway the vote here....should I take this opportunity to replace it for a carbon item :)!?

    Thanks!

  2. Sugru will hold that no problem. If the use is that the pad doesn't make proper contact, Sugru will bridge that gap and cure hard.

I think carbon would look odd, as that pad blends in nicely with the centre part of the tail unit.

  3. Awesome that sounds like the stuff I might need.

Regarding the carbon, sorry I meant just replacing the whole seat cowl with a carbon part, but I think I'll hold back on that idea now as I can see it starting a desire to change everything else to carbon to match! Telling myself plastic is fine, plastic is fine....

  5. No point in having a warranty if you don't use it when needed.

  7. I did think that, and they have already agreed to sort it, they are awesome every time I've dealt with them ( Ducati Nottingham),
Just thought as it's so minor, could save them and me the hassle. The fuel cost to get there and back will probably be more than buying some adhesive locally!

I think I've decided, the earliest I can get back to the dealer is next Thursday, if I manage to pick up some adhesive before then I'll do it myself, but if not then the dealer can do it! Thanks chaps
