  1. Hi all,

I have a track day at Donington coming up and it'll be my first on a Ducati..! I've been reading lots of stories about riders having their bikes excluded for being too noisy. My 899 as full a Termignoni full system with no baffles and I'm concerned I'm going to have problems. I've been trying to find some baffles online, but not having much luck.

Can anyone recommend a supplier, or does anyone have any I can buy from them?

    Cheers!

    Andy

PS - If this post is in the wrong place, please feel free to move it. Still getting used to how you guys organise everything, sorry if I've got it wrong! :)

  2. When is your track day

  3. 14th June

  5. They're for an 1198 - not sure they'd fit an 899? I had an 848 which had similar underseat pipes, and they look a different shape to the 899 belly pan style pipes... !

  6. So Ducati don't have any of these instock, and the factory don't look to be making more at the moment - they can't even order any in!

I've also tried SP Engineering in Frome (on Ducati's recommend) and they can't help either... Anyone got any ideas? Getting a little worried they won't let me on track!

    Cheers

  8. Think I might have to resort to that at this rate.. !!

  9. What noise db day is it ? , 102 drive by should be fine , 105/108 no problem ,98 drive by may well be a problem. I have a set you can borrow and i have just text my mate who may well have a spare set to sell.

  10. Thanks very much. Absolute legend. It’s a 105 dB day - but there are loads of people around saying they had lots of problems.

  11. If it's a 105 day then you'll be fine. From what I recall they don't static test anymore at donny and you'll not trigger the ones on circuit if it's 105. I'm abroad at the minute but back later in the week I may well have a set in the garage too but not 100%.

  12. As said 105 drive by you will be fine, i will let you know if my mate has a set. Always best to have a set in the tool kit as you can do 102 days at Silverstone, Still think 98db days are risky.

  13. I got some for my 848 from DesmoWorld in Germany, not cheap by a long stretch but they arrived after a few weeks and are what they say they are. Looking for your 899 there appears to be a few options so best to email them.

I really think if you are going to do more trackdays on an 899 you will need baffles, maybe not at Donnington but most other places.

  14. If you could let me know id appreciate it. Will be doing more days so will need em!

Tried em - no luck, thanks though!

Agreed! Ill give that a look when im home but im not sure theyll get here in time for the 14th! Thanks!

  15. Yeah I just checked, and my baffles took 3 weeks to arrive so you are better to try and borrow some.

  16. You could try these guys, i got some akra ones for my 1299s from them which dampens it down a bit but prob not enough.

Edit: They arrived within a day or so

  17. I'm home on Thursday so I'll check and let you know. In my experience the standard baffles make very little difference and I tend to stick to just noisy days. It does limit your choice on tracks, it might be worth getting some custom baffles made if you want to do quieter days. I think most circuits recognise that the Panigale is a little noisy and MSV certainly rely on drive-by readings rather than static. Alternatively you could just get some numbers on your bike and go racing ;) http://scrawnsenior.tumblr.com/post/17174328066/licence-test-day

  18. That's a little out of date now btw, you have to do a day on track instead of the going to Rugby. Classroom stuff is covered at the track.
