Icon Front Spindle Corrosion

  1. just had a new front tyre fitted, they had to drift the front spindle out, I was amazed how much corrosion was on the spindle, it’s only ever seen 2 wet rides in its 18 months, never been jet washed, it’s what comes of being dry assembled at the factory I guess, it’s now cleaned up and greased, might be an idea on yours to take the spindle nut off , lay the bike to the right and apply a lot of WD40 in the hope it gets past the spacer and down onto the spindle.

  2. It is an often forgotten part unless you have the wheel off for pads or tyres. I tend to clean and regrease both spindles twice a year for what most would consider the start of the season and at the end. Pivot points on the swingarm also is worth a regular wipe down and regrease if you are comfortable doing so.
