I currently bidding on a yellow 748 on eBay at the moment http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=160964638879 In the add it states its an S and after emailing the seller he seams to think it is, I am after all of your collected experience in helping me find out of its a qenuine S or not? Thanks guys and gals
My 748 was listed as '748s' on Ebay. Turns out that the seller thought it was an 's' because of the '748s' plate on the chassis. The 's' on the plate actually stands for 'superbike', not the model! He was actually selling a bog standard Bip.
Well it has the adjustable headstock, I had a 748E which didnt so on that alone it could be an S?? Cant remember which year it was all frames
Definately not an 'S', should have grey frame and grey 5 spoke marchesini wheels, gold coloured ti nitrate fork lowers and sachs rear shock to list the most obvious differences. Looks like a nice bike though, all 748 models had brembo's. Heres my S.
Not an S in my opinion but it looks a lovely bike and is currently at a bargain price, rockers are always a concern as they can be pricey. Steve.
Didnt read the ad..how old is it? Early ones could be an SP biposto, as said S started around 2000 as my E was a W 2000 and I'm positive it had a single position headstock
Looks and reads very well but it's no S, worth a punt upto about 2.5K ish, maybe 2.75 but not much more, colour's wrong
Not sure about your Budget but here's an 'R' DUCATI 748 750 cc 748 R (02MY) R Not my bike as I'd never sell mine
I notice it doesn't mention thye year of the bike on the ad but its a 1998 or earlier from the discs and fork bottoms. The photos also appear to show a bike taxed til 04/11 unless its just my poor eyesight.
