Tank Bags

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by Broduc64, Jul 12, 2018.

  1. Has anyone fitted the SW Motech
EVO 2.0 Engage electric tank bag, How is the fit? Do you have any Photos to show.

Also considering the Givi ST603 TANKLOCK, any photos for comparison ?

    TIA

It's a nice tank bag, and good quality. It's not very big but ideal to throw a few things in on a day ride. It clears the tank too. A little bit of a fiddle to fit to the tank ring as you have to drill 4 holes in the base plate, only five minutes work though.

  4. Thanks for that, was wondering how the curve followed the tank. Looks good.

  5. What screen is that and the Nav holder?? cheers.:upyeah:

  6. The screen is an MRA Vario with deflector. No buffeting but still some wind noise, I also have the spacers made by Jamie Clare which move the screen away from you an inch or so - I think he is on the forum, maybe do a search on that. You can also find him on Facebook. It's the best set up I have found after trying various screens. The sat nav mount is the Ducati one with an adaptor fitted. The mount normally only takes a Garmin, I had to order an adaptor separately so I could use my Tom Tom.

Yes it follows the line of the tank really nicely. The lid is slightly open on this picture:upyeah:

  8. I've got the smaller version of the Givi bag (4ltr version) and it fits onto my DVT very quickly and easily - no pics - sorry!

I have the phone in the clear pocket on top powered via the dash (Hella) socket through the front of the bag using an Ultimate-Addons Hella to USB-C cable. This gives me a relatively cheap sat nav set up that works fine except for in direct sunlight or heavy rain.

As I have the existing touring pack panniers coupled with a Givi Trekker 33 top box I only need the tank bag for the phone (see above) and for getting my wallet etc out of my leathers.

Tank bag £70, Ring £12 and cable £16

  9. There was another thread on tank bags and search might help but, it mentions the curve of the bags is so close fitting to the tank nearest to your crutch that without a tank protector, you will receive scratches on your tank.

Just as a safeguard, it you are going to fit a tank hugging bag then perhaps a tank protector would be a wise precuation too if you don't have one?

This is the spacers thread mentioned by Groundhogg https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/multistrada-screen-spacers-all-models.63050/#post-1143855

  10. Thanks for that, got the Givi tankbag and it seems to just clear the tank, although when full might touch, so will look at some form of tank protection.

Found the spacer thread and ordered a set, cheers.
