Handguards

  1. Hi all,

So I smashed the Acerbis handguards that were on my 796HM and have been riding without them since. To be honest, I prefer her without handguards. https://m.imgur.com/WKZnj6L

I didnt replace the handlebars because I've got my indicators on my antler mirrors that stick out a bit too much.
I noticed some riders have a set up like this
, with a wide field of view mirrors on the bar.

Does anyone ride with a similar mirror style? Do you see better? If I get one of those I will need to get new handlebars with indicators. Does anyone know a cheap pair? Or maybe just normal handguards with a solution for indicators elsewhere.

  2. I am currently removing a set of multistrada handguards with accompanying mirrors with indicators. Message me if interested and I will email you pictures.

  3. I've got that exact mirror set-up. Asked the YouTube guy where he got his from and got some for my 821.

It's very tidy and makes the bike look better IMO. However, there are some negatives to it:

-Field of view isn't great. Since the mirrors are quite centered (due to the short length of the stem holding them) there's a compromise on how much you can see directly behind you. It's hard to explain but long story short, rear view isn't as good as OEM. I was riding without mirrors for a while (waiting for these to arrive), so I got used to ALWAYS checking before changing lanes. The lack of rear view isn't really a big problem if you don't really heavily on the mirrors.

-Vibrations are awful... being a short, metal stem with no rubber, the mirrors vibrate considerably. You can still see if there's a vehicle, it's just harder to identify if it's one to be particularly aware of...

  4. Can you provide some pictures of how your setup looks like?
