Hello. I am in the process of rebuilding a 1991 900SS with 750 F1 (racer) style fairing and seat. The airbox will be junked and individual filters will be fitted as the airbox would clash with the F1 tank which is very low compared to the quite tall 900SS tank. The carbs are mounted parallel to each other with a long tube (approx 5 inches) tapering in from the carb to the inlet of the engine. Is there a kit or standard Ducati parts that I can use to fit the carbs nearer to the engine which will make packaging the air filters easy and/or allow a larger tank volume. Any advise gladly received! Thanks for looking, Jared
I'm not familair with the carbs on early SS but assuming they are single carbs and not a banked pair then the Malossi intakes (or intake manifolds from an ST2 or 900ie) should fit; Malossi Manifold Kit DUCATI 900 SS Split FCR39/41 Carbs | Motorcycle Exhausts | Performance Parts They work on later 900s with split carbs, however this will put one carb horizontal and the other vertical so may cause some issues?
the carbs on the early belt ss are banked unless its a realy early belt with the weber you are looking at fcr singles or delorto's to move carbs out of the way Steve B
