Is it just me or is the Givi site and accessories confusing ??? I have a Multi 1200S, 2016 and have fitted the Givi behind screen mount FB7408, which fits great, see pic. To this bar I want to fit my Garmin 595 satnav, this is where it gets confusing, what Givi product do I need to attach the Garmin backplate to the bar !!! Or any other solutions. Thanks.
Do you want lockable? The Touratech locking mount with saddle clamps onto the bar is a great solution. Not having to dismount your nav when getting petrol etc is great. Sounds really lazy but on a trip all those minutes add up and when it’s hot, less faff = better.

No, Just simply use the RAM ball mount adaptor that will have come with the Garmin kit and attach it to the back of the plate you have in the photo and then fit this to the bar with the adjustable u-clip fitting, also supplied to use as a handlebar mount. That way you can adjust the angle to suit, making sure that whatever height you set your screen to, it doesn't interfere with the clip fixings, which should also have rubber protection cups to fit over the stud heads, to properly finish off the set-up. I have the Palmers' Products version, which I really rate, albeit some of the guys and gals on here don't, but 'horses for etc., which if you want a photo or two of, to see what I'm talking about, I'd be happy to help out. Just let me know and I'll do what I can to show you what my Tom-Tom set-up looks like, on which you could quite easily base your own solution. Regards TonyN
Thanks for the info, The U-clip fitting supplied with mine is for a much bigger diameter bar, ie. handlebar rather than just the small Givi bar Approx 10-12 mm dia. I suppose I could easily get a smaller U-clip. But I might go the route of getting a lockable Touratech case. Thanks for info and ans.
Broke, It's not that I prefer the Palmers' item -vs- the Givi, I simply didn't look at the Givi, which I'm sure is an excellent piece of kit. Sorry, I've just got back to your reply and will take a couple of photos tomorrow morning and send them over to you FYI. Cheers for now. TonyN
Broke, As promised here's a few photos of the Tom-Tom sat-nav mount set-up I'm currently using, with the Palmers' kit, which show the u-clip around the bar, which looks similar to yours. Apologies for the clutter in the garage and for the lack of any 'bins' anywhere to be seen, which will no doubt receive some angst from Duc-Bird, if indeed no-one else! The bar I've got fitted is 3/4" - 19mm diameter, which was easier for the clip to get a really good grip onto. If you need anything else get back to me and I'll see if I can assist. Good luck with fitting. Regards TonyN
Thanks TM, does your setup bounce (a lot) ? Mine is on a Navi/H brkt at the moment with the locking device, which meant I had to use spacers to get it far enough away from the standard screen to be able to use the key. My set up as it is, bounces so much I either have to get rid of the lock or try another system like yours. Does yours obscure the clocks at all.
Broke, No mine doesn't obscure the dash at all and yes it does move slightly, but not any more than the Navi-Halter set-up I've had previously, which attaches to the top of the screen adjuster and as I recall, this is vastly better than the N-H, hence I cancelled one that I did have on order for the 1260 I've recently bought. To be honest with you, even with some movement, which to me, is inevitable with any movement of the front forks, etc., doesn't materially impact the normal use of the sat-nav, so I'm really happy with this arrangement, but others seem to like to have theirs 'rock-solid', which to me is pretty much impossible. Also with this, the range of adjustment available is significant, so it can easily be set-up to avoid the screen and still leave the dash fully visible. You 'pays your money, you makes your choice', as the old adage goes, but this definitely works great for me. Regards TonyN
