748 History Behind The Farings

  1. There are 3 different farings? Some have Decals in Black or Silver

  2. Depends on the year of manufacture and the model. Not sure if anyone has done a definitive list of what should be what though. Might be a task for me. Andy

  3. First 2 are late 748 998 with no air vents and the last one are early 916 996 748 the R comes in the black
     
  4. The 996/998 R "decals" aren't black but are a lack of decal with the carbon fibre showing through. Red bikes have silver decals and yeloow bikes have black decals. There are 3 generations of decals on these bikes: The early Cagiva ones for the 916/748 are the big angled decals low. The 996/748 of the later models with the older fairing are shown in the third picture. in 2002 the 998/748 used the 996R fairing without the big vent and the decals changed again as per the second photo. There was also one year when the capacity wasn't shown on the fairing just the word Ducati with the capacity on the small sticker at the back of the tail

  6. Yeah 996r & 998r are carbon but 748r are black . The one with no capacity are 916 sps the later bikes with no vents have capacity
