Hey guys, Pretty excited to be picking up a used 2016 Hyper 939 SP with 2600 miles on it. Seems to be in great shape other then a slight oil weep the dealer is fixing on the right side (they claim it is coming from one of the right side case bolts and will seal it up). Got it for a good "end of year" price and they are even throwing in a oil/filter service. Rode the bike quite a bit and it is a blast! It is all stock save for an Akro slip on so it sounds great. Couple questions though: 1) Any good way to eliminate the exhaust valve? Or should I leave it? 2) Fueling seems really good except for a bit of a flat spot/surge area in the 5-6K RPM range which seems most people complain about. If you ride it like it wants to be ridden you never feel it, lol. Any good options for improving that other then a power commander (i did get a 3 year extended warranty) or just live with it? 3) Any other things to look out for? Thanks!
1. Depends what youre doing with the exhaust system...if youre leaving it stock...then all drillingvthe valve out will do it make more noise...not a bad thing.. 2. Fueling: depends again what youre going to do with it...if you get it mapped....then thatll be gone... 3. Cant say avout other stuff as ive got an 1100evo sp.
Good question....you could get the flat spot " mapped out " drill out the valve and get a bit more....im not sure if race headers have a larger bore on the 939...the do on the 1100...perhaps someone could chip in on that...assuming they are fitcthe headers, get it mapped, and get more again...
Thanks.....not sure who would do map in the US. Pretty new to Ducati. Also have a 3 year extended warranty so don’t want to mess that up. May try a booster plug. Besides that just gonna ride it, lol
Not allot of mapping options,,some dealers do the rexxer remap which is loaded into the ecu,or for custom map you’ll need power commander. Haven’t found anyone who can flash the ecu on the hyper.
Thanks for the info.....seems to be what I am finding as well. Power commander is not an option so just gonna ride it and have fun!
Just replied to your other thread. Rapid Bike Easy, it's perfect for what you want. I fitted an Imoto servo delete chip, and spot welded the flap open and removed the cable. All the chip does, is tell the ecu it's still connected. Make sure you get this or you will have a warning light flashing on your dash, and also a stored error code in your ECU. I have a 2016 Hypermotard and absolutely love the thing. Fit a pair of Rosso III and you have the best bike out there.
1) Get a full Termignoni system 2) Use the upmap key that comes with the Termignoni 3) Remove the dB-killer from the Termignoni
It comes with smaller ones. (Which I didn't use, got an NRC Tail Tidy). And it also comes with a replacement airbox lid to match the better flow.
