Sil Moto Vs. Termignoni

Discussion in 'Supersport (1974-2007)' started by Fire3500, Sep 26, 2018.

  1. OK, so which is better? I'm looking at a full spaghetti system for the SL to uninhibit it a little more. I want it to be right. It has Termi's and standard headers now... only Sil Moto system available.

    Wisdom please! x

  2. My honest thought are that the Sil SOUND better. I had this dilemma years ago and was lucky enough to hear Sil, Termi and Arrow on three different Superlights on the same ride out. Sil were my fave, hence the reason I got them. I would however state that the fit, although good once sorted, is fiddly and as I have heard from SEV, not quite as good as the Termi. I have a complete Sil System and it's not quite as well designed on the headers as the Termi as its not got the same crossover pipes. However, good luck finding Termi headers as Ive very rarely seen any for sale. Sil are Italian aswell ;)

  3. I should add that the Sil headers are quite a bit wider bore than standard and much lighter.

  4. Cheers dude, I appreciate the insight. I've got the Termi ones on my 900SS inc. the headers and they're MASSIVE, and really you need rearsets as they're very tight on the right side near the brake pedal. The SL had its whoopsie and my Termi has a scuff on it, so I'm thinking of ditching the OE header and going for a full Sil job. I'm expecting it to be a patient fitting job.

    Thank you :)

  5. All done, thank you for the help! :)

As you can see in the last pic, I have spaced out the fairing with a urethane bung to avoid it touching the headers. I don't want to cut the fairing so any inspiration about how otherwise to do this will be gratefully received.

  6. @Fire3500 Are these from parts planet Italy?

  7. From a place in Germany. The Italian outfits were all a bit vague about delivery times whereas the Germans were clear and fast.

  8. Sounds about right, German exhausts would fit better too
I also had the fairing touch at that point

  9. Have you a link to them mate? Im after Sp5 silencers but a little concerned on how long partsplanet will take to come up with them going by past experience

  10. Let’s give these a go then, knocked up some brackets and got some heat reflecting tape.

  12. Has anyone got experience with the spaghetti header from partsplanet which is a copy of the Silmotor?
    I'm looking at buying one.

  13. Is it cheaper? I’d be wanting to know about the fit. The Sil stuff bolted up pretty well.

  14. Someone here must have bought one, probably thinking it’s a Silmotor

  15. Could be. Call me stupid, as the ones from Daniele were about £200 dearer than Partsplanet, but mine arrived all stamped up as Silmotor and it was (for whatever reason) important that I was bolting good quality bits to my SL. :)

  16. Yea, the parts planet one is €500. It looks the same and same bore etc.
Has anyone bought one from there?

  17. Can anyone advise what length the sil motor silencers are (just the silencer bit).
    Cheers

  18. The can only is 18inch on my Sm’s.

  19. I can measure them if you like but I think they're 400mm.

  20. I guess they’re all different.
