851 motor dies when pulling in clutch lever.

  1. Hi have a '89 851 it has justt started to show the following fault, when going along at a reasonable speed if you pull the clutch in while slowing down the motor dies complety. If coming to a slow speed stop and the clutch is pulled in and your changing down it doesnt die, it starts right away each time. Any ideas anyone?

  5. it does sound as though a general tune might help. What is your current idle speed when warmed up? It could be set a little low which wouldn't help. I think it's around 1300 rpm by the book.

Hi, Thanks for the reply it had new plugs, cam belts valve adjustment when i bought it 3 months ago, Im the 2nd oonwere its only donr 26k kms not miles, I will ring my mechaninc on monday and run these ideas past him. Will post a new thread once its been looked at to see if it helps anyone else.
