On all my previous bikes ive always been able to find the software needed to reset or activate stuff that I’ve done to the bike. Like clear the service light or turn on heated grips, that sort of stuff. Is the Duc software available anywhere for this to the likes of me or have the dealers got it sewn up tight?? I have tried a search but I may be using the wrong terminology!! Cheers Kick.
On the newer Euro 4 compliant Ducatis, OBD2 readers will read and clear DTCs but will not clear service lights which are definitely Ducati only, particularly the new models which have service warnings based on miles AND time. Torque Lite on my Android phone can read and clear the error code (PO4075) on my Supersport 939 which keeps recurring due to a duff servo motor. I have a Termi exhaust and simply fitted spring to return the servo but the error keeps returning regardless. Time to splash out and buy a servo eliminator.
Gents many thanks for your replies, I have ordered the cable from Lonelec and had to dig out an old Windows laptop to download Jpdiag. I’ll have a go at resetting the service light when the cable arrives. Cheers
For those of you with the Lonelec OBD2 cable, when does the LED come on -- when the cable is connected to the computer, or when the cable connected to the bike? I'm having a shit time trying to get my HyperMotard connected. I'm using the Lonelec OBD2 cable, Lonelec 3-pin FIAT adapter, and 12V feed to the positive terminal of the FIAT jobbie. I installed the correct FTDI drivers, can see the device as COM3 in Device Manager (Windows 10), but the LED on the cable never comes on and I can't get GuzziDiag or IAWDiag or IAW5Reader to work. The Hyper ECU says IAW 5AM on the case.
I doubt you will reset service lights or turn any ancillaries on/off if you bike is 2015 or later. You need the Ducati reader to do those. We have all tried.
Isn't there a Texa unit as well, a non Ducati dealer was able to reset my pin code and clear the service light on my '16 Enduro.
Yeah I'm not getting anything I've tried connecting positive AND positive and negative fly leads to the battery, but the light just never comes on. I've emailed Lonelec but haven't heard back...
LED should even illuminate with fly lead connected to power and cable not plugged in to USB port. Possible duff lead?
Yeah it's certainly possible. In my previous career I used a USB -> RS232 adapter a lot, and the LED on that would illuminate as soon as you plugged it into the USB port. It's weird that the Lonelec cable works enough to create COM3 in Windows, but not enough to light its bloody LED...
The illumination of the LED appears to be linked to an external power source and not the USB port ie from the bike battery via the fly leads being PIN 16 for +12v and PIN 4&5 for -ve.
Do you have any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this? My guess is that I first need to look at those pins on the FIAT cable to see what voltages the FIAT cable is pulling out of the diag port. Because if the FIAT cable doesn't see any voltage, the VAG cable won't see any either...
