Show Me A Picture Of Somewhere Famous Or Infamous You've Been..

  1. Visited last year. If you didn't know, the small black squares on the ceiling are examples of how it was before they cleaned it. Must have been a amazing job uncovering that lot.

  2. It was way back in 2001 when we visited and were hemmed in like sheep with other tourists and asked not to take photographs, but a friend did and he has two/or three shots (that had them rattled:)),What a mind bending excerise for any proper artist:upyeah:unlike the lot today.

  3. Could well be but it would be interesting to know - there are others.
The one in Verona is even more intact than the one in Rome and is regularly used for operas etc
Endured a performance of Aida there a few years ago but the place is so huge that you couldn't see or hear the performers properly as there were no microphones or speakers. The male lead had to be replaced after the interval as he had strained his voice trying to make himself heard. Incredible structure with the same design as modern football stadiums, ie staircases emerging onto stepped stone terraces where you sit rather than stand and hire cushions to save a numb bum.
