  1. Mine comes down off the stands every so often and I pump the forks to keep the seals from drying out. Am I mad?

  2. To be fair most of the advice is if you are putting the bike away for long term storage. It's only a few months, so just the usual - Don't put it away dirty, keep the tyres off the ground and run it up every now and then.

  3. Haha, sorry but that’s far from ‘the usual’.
There’s a huge school of thought that says don’t run it, just leave it.
I would say, if you do run it, then make sure you run it long enough to get good and hot, ie over 100c on the dash and boil any condensation out of the oil and crankcases, gearbox etc.
Running it for a short time will definitely promote condensation inside the engine - bad news...

  7. Yes, I estimate it would take more than 800 years for a modern silicone rubber seal to dry out, or do you have leather seals on yours? :)

I'm trying to post a funny image in response but it won't let me upload it or link to it. Bah. Imagine a shit drawing of a seal wearing sunglasses riding a motorcycle and that's it basically.
