Hi Guys I have been unable to find the wear limits for 100mm barrels from a 999. A new set of Pistal pistons into used barrels (with no visible lip i might add) appear to be too loose when dry test fitted. Can anyone point me at a document that has this info please. Thanks keith
Yes of course, but anticipating an issue i really would like to measure the bores correctly and check the values i get against the reference. Its a very long time since i did a ring end gap test either (old triumph bonnevilles) and becuase i cannot remember a "good" value i could do with having a refence for that value. Cannot find that figure either.I bet its in the same document as the wear limits though.
From the factory manual section c1.1 page 12 Max out of round/Oval wear limit 0.03mm Max taper 0.03mm It also mentions how and where to measure
I had another forum member message me with the same concerns. How do the std piston feel in there? What size feeler gauge can you slip between the piston and cylinder?? If you have serious concerns head down to a local engineering shop. I’m sure they’d be happy to drop a bore gauge in them for you.
