Repair Or Scrap

  1. Just found what looks like a nail in my tyre, unfortunately it’s in one of the treads.
    Repair or bin it?

  7. Michelins can be repaired as they run Kevlar belts.

  12. I did a repair on my rear tyre in a very similar place six months ago, it's just fine.

  13. I repaired one of those three months ago for a mate, he has done some 2000 miles since some of which were quick miles.

  14. If it'll pass a MOT it should be safe IMO.
     
  15. Likewise, an almost new rear on the 916 and in the tread just like the above.

    Use a proper 'from the inside' repair plug and it'll be fine.

  17. I ended up replacing as I made a right mess trying to repair it.
    Wouldn't bother me riding on a plugged tyre tbh
     
  18. Oh no!!! Cheers, I've never tried a repair burt might change the tyres to Pirelli anyway as they are standard for the bike, get it plugged and chuck the pair on Ebay and get a bit of cash back.
     
  19. These are the ones I used, have to be fitted from the inside though.
