Also circlip removed from cam pulley- do I need a puller to remove the pulley?

The cam tensioner post, ( below right) does that need to come off to remove the cover behind? I guess it does..

  2. Laser do a decent little tool to do the job. If the bearing is ok, you can remove the whole pulley assembly with an 8mm Allen key in the centre. It’s tight. Yes, the tensioner post does need to come off to

  5. Noods, if you look at the holes in the pulleys, you should see that two which are opposite to each other are threaded M6.

If so, just grab some old or spare sockets and a big spanner and you can make something like this:

  8. Noods, you can borrow them for as long as you need them, if you can get out of the house and collect them (or if someone can) - I'm afraid I am stuck indoors too because of the side effects of chemo.

  10. Because those nuts can be sod to get moving, I wore a pair of heavy duty gloves, just in case anything slipped.....the spanner shaft could take a finger off.
