Not sure if this has already been posted, but at last Ducati seem to admit there is a problem with the oil coolers leaking..... https://www.asphaltandrubber.com/recall/ducati-panigale-v4-recall/
Just run my VIN through the Ducati recall campaign checker and there are no active recalls recorded as of 06/12/18. Although I’ve never seen it written down anywhere, on their system my V4 is a Speciale Magnesio Andy
It says this... First spotted in the European market, Ducati’s recall documents say that the issue may be visible as a small oil leak, and if a leak is not present the bike can be ridden to the closest dealer at low RPM. To remedy the problem, Ducati will notify affected owners, and Ducati dealers will replace the oil cooler, free of charge. This recall is expected to begin January 24, 2019.
I know what the article says, I can read. It would appear that there is nothing declared for UK bikes, yet. Andy
Tetchy , that's why I cut and paste as it says the recall will roll out in January, I was trying to help typical Speciale Magnesio owner
Looks like there is ANOTHER recall to add to the list !! This time it's the timing chain tensioner. https://www.rideapart.com/articles/296340/recall-watch-panigale-v4-1/
I suppose that it is turning out to be a good thing recovering from surgery has kept me off my V4. Andy
Just checked the Ducati recall campaign page and mine is due a new oil cooler which will be available from 11 January 2019. Andy
Ducati.com, then in the drop down menu you have Dealers, then Services which should take you to the page with the recall campaign page where you put your VIN in. I'm not near my iPad otherwise I'd post a link. If you are happy to wait, when I'm home, I'll post the link. Andy
Here you go: http://www.ducati.com/services/recall_campaigns/index.do Like Andy, mine is due one too. If your oil cooler does not have the extra bracing as in the picture I posted up, chances are you'll need a new one. It says from Jan 24th 2019 for exchange of new part.
Thanks, I have just checked and it appears mine is due one too, that’s another job for them when it goes in for it’s first service as well as replacing my exhaust (see my V4 broken exhaust post earlier tonight)
