  1. OK laugh all you want - MR re wired my heated grips but they dont work so rather than take it back on Saturday was going to check the fuses

I have taken off the seat and can see the little rascals but how do I get the little feckers out ?

    Thanks

  2. Long nose pliers? The power of the mind? A small child?

I'd go with needle nose pliers, you can get the angled ones...

  3. I can just pull ?

I scare myself with my own strength sometime

  4. (Pfft) yes... just pull.. not too hard else you'll break it... gentle.. a fuse is like a beautiful lady.. it must be handled with care and given chocolates...

  5. I am a f*cking lady

  6. Well sometimes

Here's a picture of the cat helping [IMG]

  7. So then would you like your bits clamped and pulled?? Hell no!!! Haha... Probs is a fuse though, if the wires shorted at an point during the rework then its a safe bet one popped.... I assume you disconnected the battery beforehand though? Prerequisite to any electrical work on a bike haha

  8. [IMG]

I was expecting those plastic spade fuses

    Better put it back

  9. Next door ahh I c now

  10. Helping in what way? By acting bored & nagging for food? I help my OH all the time in exactly the same way....

  11. Isnt that a relay? looks different to my 848 fuses & I'd have thought they would be identical...

  12. Must be a fused box light not on ?

  13. That looks like a relay not a fuse.

  14. It's a Ducati is what's left hanging around

  15. Found fuses all ok

Think the grip switch box as light should be red

  16. There you go.. the six fuses right there... but saying that I'd guess an aftermarket product would have its own inline fuse from the battery.. or the ignition most likely... Depends how it was wired... Cant you trace the wires from the grips & see if you can find it... Whats that slap bang in the middle? Thats looking like an inline job to me.. Pull that cap & see if the fuse is ok... I'm not saying thats your fuse but it could be?

  17. Yes it's the box that came with them light should come on -sealed box though

  18. So that inline fuse there partially covering the white sticker is sound?? Ok, Could be another fuse somewhere from the grips down to the actual neg / live connection.. Or could be where it actually connects to the feed has come loose... Or could be the box itself is fubarred... See if you can find where the grips get their power from and trace back to the grips themselves... You have a current / voltage meter?

  19. Cats bored now and my knowledge ends at checking visible fuses and spraying WD40 about

Ill call Phil at MR tomorrow if not Wantz1 can lend me his multimeter

Although it was his wiring they re did neater and put another switch in so hold your hats for the 'I told you so's' ;-p
