Anyone had an issue with the steering lock now working? I seem to have an intermittent fault with the lock not operating. When switching off the system the display says red switch not released. I don't get the waiting for lock message even after i release the switch. I've checked the finger switches and there is no free play in the leavers, have the switches been known to fail?
for MY 2010-MY 2012 there is a HF-Update/Change which takes the 2 limit switches out of operation Ducati, RS SAT 876
There was also an issue with the right hand switch, which was updated a few times before being changed for the DVT. It does sound like one of the switches has stuck, unless of course you are not bothering to slide the red switch back up after killing the engine ? This last part was an issue for the early bikes, because if the switch is down it would make the bike search for the key, and flatten the bikes battery...
I couldn't get mine to unlock on a couple of occasions had to be recovered had it replaced / fixed both times under warranty don't use it now as I don't trust it
Iv heard about the upgrade to the locking system. I guess that's what aero has posted? has anybody had this done and is it successful?
Used mine twice both times it wouldn't come off and had to be recovered so stopped using it An unnecessary complecation along with most of the electronic gadgets on the bike including skyhook suspension
It's usually an issue with the switch. I think there was a thread somewhere were someone took theirs apart and fixed it...try a search?
Found a thread where a guy just lubricated the switches and finger linkages ...... Result Operated and locked ..... twice .....then wouldn't loc again grrrrrrrrrrr Think it may be the switches they look as if part of the manual key assembly so not easy to replace or cheap.
Mine worked about a week, then just stopped. I could have spent every weekend dismantling it and repairing, but that's not my job and Ducati had enough to fix so I just stopped using it
Mine works intermittently too. Never failed to unlock, but rarely wants to lock. I put it down to it not thinking the bars are in the right place (the two switches) as it doesn't give me the "waiting for lock" message. May enquire about the software change.
As #15, mine was disconnected as it failed. A lot of insurance policies stipulate that your steering lock must be on when away from the bike. Irrespective of what additional security devices you have fitted/used. An easy way for insurance companies to refuse a payout on stolen recovered bikes if found to be disconnected.
